There is nothing more refreshing than a tall, cool drink to quench your thirst on a hot summer’s day. After a lazy weekend full of sunbathing, bbqs, and great friends, I realized that no matter how fabulous the company, nothing makes a party better than a signature cocktail to cool the senses as you relax into the wee hours of the night.
When life gives you lemons, make virgin pink lemonade
- 1 ¼ cups of sugar
- 4 cups of water
- 1 cup cranberry juice
- 1 cup lemon juice
Heat sugar and 1 cup of water in a small sauce pan until the sugar completely dissolves. Remove from heat, and stir in remaining ingredients. Chill for 1 hour and serve.
Watermelon Cool-cumber Cocktail
- 5 cups cubed seedless watermelon
- 1 large English cucumber, peeled and cut into chunks
- ¼ cup fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 2/3 cup of vodka (optional)
- Cucumber slices, for garnish
Set a large fine-mesh sieve over a large bowl or pitcher. In a blender, puree watermelon. Pour watermelon puree through sieve, pressing solids with a spatula so you collect about 2 cups of juice. Puree English Cucumber and pour through sieve into watermelon juice. In a small bowl, stir lime, juice, and honey. Add to watermelon and cucumber juice, along with vodka. Add honey to adjust sweetness if desired. Serve in 4 glasses filled with ice, and garnish with cucumber slice.
Skinny Girl Sangria
- 8 peaches (sliced)
- 4 white plums (sliced)
- 1lb of green grapes, halved
- 3 bottles of Prosecco
- 1 can of diet lemon lime soda
- 1 can of club soda
Combine all ingredients into a large pitcher. Chill for one hour, then serve!
- 2 tsp sugar
- 6-8 mint leaves
- Club soda
- 1 lime, halved
- 2 oz light rum
- Mint sprig, for garnish
Place sugar, mint leaves and a splash of club soda into glass. Muddle well to dissolve the sugar and release the mint flavor. Squeeze lime juice from both halves, and drop one half of the lime in glass. Add rum. Stir well, and fill with ice cubes.
- 2 cups of hulled strawberries
- 1 bottle of dry Riesling
- 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
Reserve 1 cup of Riesling
In blender, puree strawberries with remaining wine, lime juice and sugar. Pour mixture into ice cube tray and freeze until solve. When ready to serve, puree ice cubes with the remaining wine in blender- Enjoy!
