October 3, 2014. Behind The Scenes
Posted by Alyssa
Before the days become too cold to be outdoors without heating lamps and mittens, we decided to set up two outdoor community dining tables to raise money for 2 local shelters. The weather gods were on our side and we were graced with gorgeous weather in both Vancouver and Toronto. We set up three of our beautiful Chateau Extension Dining Tables accompanied by Chateau Benches and various dining chairs. We invited passers by to take a seat and enjoy their lunch. For each person who sat down, we donated $5 towards local shelter organizations. The events were a huge success and we were so happy to bring awareness to these great organizations, while also providing residents with a nice place to enjoy their meal.
We hosted the first event in Toronto at the St. James Cathedral Church on September 24th. 63 people took a seat and helped us raise money for Dixon Hall.
A total of 67 sat down at our tables at the Vancouver Art Gallery on September 30th, helping us contribute to the Covenant House.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for lunch. If you visited us the day of the events, we’d love to hear from you! Please comment below.
