Thailand is a country rich in history but even richer in inspiring colour combinations. On a recent vacation to the country, I found myself surrounded by beautiful colours like I’ve never seen before. Both natural and manmade, Thailand has clearly inspired generations when it comes to colour and colour combinations. From century old temples decorated in thousands of hand placed coloured tiles to the majestic native foliage of the country, Thailand kept my eyes wide open as I tried to take everything in. Here are a few shots I captured during my trip of a few inspiring colour combinations.

My favorite colour combination of them all, the tiled roof of this temple is a rich fall colour palette of deep blue, mustard yellow and burnt orange:

Colourful houses line the banks of the Chao Phraya river, a main water artery for Bangkok:

My love of all things gold has only grown fonder since visiting the temples of Thailand. Seen in Thailand is every possible colour combination mixed with gold:

A beautiful tiled colour combination, burnt orange and green, reminded me of the colours of the leaves of fall and fond memories of my favorite season:

An inspiring palette for any season, turquoise and ivory proves itself to be a timeless colour combination:

Even on a gloomy day, the colours of Thailand inspire. Shown here is a rainbow of colours painted on traditional long-tail boats perfectly contrasting the subdued icy blue and green shades of the ocean and a lavender hued sky:

It’s hard to believe this is a real plant. The coral and lime green in this Heliconia really pop:
