My inspiration for Fall comes from personal experiences and memories, combined with the latest trends on the runway. As the days slowly grow shorter and we wind down our social calendars, it’s easy to feel melancholic at the end of Summer. However, despite how much I love the fresh Summer palette, the Fall season is greatly anticipated every year here at Urban Barn. There is something exciting about this crisp change of season, as the air gets cooler and we pull out a beloved wardrobe of knits, leather jackets and knotty textures. It reminds us of our youth, and the thrill of starting anew.
Our first collection, Urban Lodge, speaks to our favourite classic Autumn trends. We’ve taken a classic Canadian getaway, the genuine mountain lodge, and added an industrial edge for the modern space. Here we see wool textures, gorgeous leather, distressed finishes, and masculine shapes.
Next, we have created a unique twist on a typical Fall colour palette. With an emphasis on textures used to create depth, Under the Sea brings a bold and saturated palette to the season. This colour story is an unconventional take on the traditional styles of the season.
We decided to play with retro inspiration from our Mid-Century modern furniture and create a colour story set in the swinging 60s and groovy 70s. With funky tweeds, stripes, and shag, this vintage colour story is a collection to chill out and enjoy.
Our next collection, Elements, is a play on contrast and complements. Burnt saffron contrasts with cool sea foam and icy silvers, resulting in a sophisticated modern take on the classic foliage tones for Fall.
Finally, our most dramatic collection, Mulberry Twilight, brings out all the rich, royal hues and glam textures inspired by the Fall runway. The accents feature raised patterns, French modern shapes, and dark, moody hues.
