Tell us a little bit about yourself and your space.
My name is Jaclyn Harper and I am the owner of Harper Designs, a Design Agency located in Burlington, ON. After seven years in television, I started branching out as a Design Expert on several shows in the GTA. I quickly became recognized by fellow designers and decor enthusiasts and decided to launch my own firm. Three years later, we are serving residential, retail and commercial clients with a strong focus on renovation projects. The project featured here is what I call Project: Lakeshore. This was a newly purchased condo for two young professionals that needed some guidance when it came to furniture placement and furnishings. They couldn’t be happier with their new living space.
How would you describe your decorating style?
My decorating style is what I like to call “modern casual”. It’s livable, beautiful and comfortable with a focus on quality furnishings. I tend to use a lot of tone on tone neutrals, unique wood elements, pops of black and slight hint of colour.
Tell us about your favorite Urban Barn piece and why you love it.
My absolute favourite Urban Barn piece is the Berg Sectional. It’s oversized and it’s oh-so comfortable! I’ve ordered it for a client in the past and would love to purchase it for myself in my next home. My go-to fabric order? Aiden Platinum. It looks good on everything!
Which pieces were featured in your winning image?
We ordered the Bronx Custom Sectional in my favourite fabric, Aiden Platinum, for this space. This was a tricky configuration because we had tight entryways to load the sectional into. With that said, we ordered the Bronx in three separate pieces. We went with the right arm loveseat, a corner unit and left arm loveseat to complete the set. This was the best way to get a large sectional into my client’s condo.
Which Urban Barn location is your favourite to shop at and why?
My absolute favourite Urban Barn location is the one off of Burloak. I feel like I know everyone that works there. In fact, they feel like my friends (even though they may not feel the same way ha!). Great service. Wonderful people.
